clear communications is Russell Thomson and Peter Gray. Between us, we have extensive experience in many forms of communication. We both bring a unique set of skills to provide clients with a high standard of editing and proofreading.
Russell Thomson has provided editorial and proofreading services to a wide range of publishers and organisations over the past 15 years. He has a Diploma in Book Editing and Publishing from Macleay College (Sydney), is an Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) Accredited Editor and is a professional member of the NSW Society of Editors. Currently he is Publications Editor for the Reserve Bank of Australia (part-time) and has worked in-house for Scholastic Press, ABC Books, HarperCollinsPublishers, Little Hare Books and POL Corporate Publications. He has been proofreader of Good Reading Magazine for almost a decade, and edited INCITE, the national librarians’ association magazine.
His background includes marketing and promotions for the ABC (TV and Radio), extensive experience in performing arts management and corporate communications (as Coordinator Community Relations with Marrickville Council from 1994 to 2000).
Peter Gray currently works as a freelance editor. His fifteen years’ experience as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages and his Diploma in Book Editing and Publishing from Macleay College mean that he is well qualified to edit documents created by writers whose first language is not English. It has also given him a solid grasp of grammar and contemporary usage which enables him to provide editorial assistance to authors preparing works for submission to publishers and writers of memoirs. He has worked as a copywriter and producer for ABC Radio in Sydney and provided editorial and proofreading services to Scholastic Press, ABC Books and HarperCollinsPublishers.
Peter’s other qualifications include BA (Hons) in English Literature (Sydney University), Dip. Ed. (University of Melbourne) and Cert. TESOL (International House, Sydney).
